General
Whenever anyone mentions Positano, the first image to appear before our eyes is the classic pyramid of colored houses sloping down to the sea. Positano is a crisscross of hidden gardens, terraces drowning in colorful bougainvillea, windows overlooking the sea and all kinds of boats bobbing around in the Mediterranean, looking back towards that colorful pyramid. This is Positano, a slow-paced Mediterranean village filled with color and warmth.
The Villa perfectly fits into this setting: it is high-class 18th century villa characterized by the charm that only true authenticity can bestow. Sunny and welcoming, it is a treasure hidden in the center of Positano. The villa is accessed along a typical narrow alleyway that turns a corner to reveal this splendid residence with its majestic patio and hidden garden overlooking the rooftops of Positano and the sea.
As you enter the villa you will be surprised to discover an ancient authentic wood-fired oven which has incredibly remained intact over the years, and reminds us of the times when people used to make their own bread at home.
Moving in the opposite direction to the oven, there are living rooms and a dining room leading onto a kitchen which is also reminiscent of times past and flooded with diffused light from a large glass window that leads onto a terrace covered by a pergola dressed in vines to provide shade for the outdoor table.
This could be an ideal movie set but instead the villa is open to guests who wish to live here, even for just a brief period.
A majestic stone staircase beneath vaulted ceilings decorated with bas-reliefs leads to the upper floor where the 4 main bedrooms are located, all of which have access to the panoramic terrace where the Tower of Fornillo, located at sea level, is a constant presence.
This is an ideal place for anyone who wants to throw themself into the everyday life of Positano, becoming one of the locals. All sorts of public services can be reached by foot, from shops to a wide choice of restaurants. The bus stop is just a few steps away and, although it is not necessary to have a car, the villa has a private garage where it is possible to park two small/medium cars. Due to the low height of the garage entrance it cannot be used to park vans. Fornillo Beach is around 500 meters away. WIFI internet connection

Area Information
There ́s nothing new to say about Positano, and it goes without saying that it is one of the most fascinating places in the world, where both during the day and at night- time you can go through wonderful experiences that you are unlikely to find elsewhere. hat said, tourists visiting Positano should bear in mind that this is a town with steep streets and more than its fair share of stairways, with many colourful pastel houses crammed on the hillside next to the beachfront, competing with each other for the best sea view. When you first arrive in Positano, do consider paying the tourist information office a visit. Located on the Via del Saracino, next to the Via dei Mulini and the central Piazza Flavio Gioia, this tourist information outlet is conveniently close to one of the town's most famous sights, the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta. The town is undeniably a very special, unique and 'real' part of Campania, boasting dramatic cliff-hugging roads, popular beachfronts and some of the very best views that you are ever likely to experience. Apart from the beaches and water sports, other tourist attractions include cruises along the Amalfi Coast, the very beautiful Bay of Salerno, and a choice of walking trails, with a very appealing cliff side path connecting the Spiaggia Grande and Spiaggia del Fornillo beaches. Whilst there are no real museums of note within the town of Positano, there is plenty of history, particularly nearby. If you are able to take a few day trips, then nearby Naples is home to a very impressive selection of museums, with plenty of historical information about Campania. Alternatively, take a short excursion to Pompeii or Herculaneum and learn more about the Roman culture that once flourished in these ancient Roman towns, which are really like giant open-air museums, filled with treasures around every corner. Campania is a very popular part of Italy and has much to offer visiting tourists. During the summer, the town's waterfront is bustling with ferries, hydrofoils and other boats, which whisk people to destinations such as Amalfi, Naples, Ravello and Sorrento. The isle of Capri is especially close to Positano and makes for a very worthwhile day trip, offering everything from glorious sandy beaches and Mediterranean 'sea caves', to historic sights around the centrally located Piazza Umberto.
