General
Exclusive-use four-bedroom eco-friendly private ocean house, ideal for an unforgettable multi-generational beach holiday or immersive coastal nature experience.
The fully Staffed Villa accommodates eight adults and four children (under 16) in four, beautiful en-suite ocean-facing rooms, inspired by the sand dunes of South Africa. Experience guided marine walks, mountain-biking and sandboarding, all from your gorgeous exclusive-use ocean house. The sparkling pool, delicious gastronomy and dedicated hospitality team await along with endless, uninterrupted views.
The ground floor contains expansive shared spaces centred on a large indoor dining area and snug lounge. To the rear a sheltered courtyard contains outdoor dining and lounge areas plus a rather pleasant swimming pool.
On the first floor there is a lovely lounge bar where wrap-around picture windows provide 360 degree views over the surrounding landscapes and the ocean beyond. There is also a large telescope and a further outside lounge terrace.
Back down on the ground floor there are four beautiful bedroom suites, each with ocean views direct from the beds and lovely large bathrooms, all beautifully fitted and equipped.
A fifth bedroom doubles as a children's bunk room and TV room.
The children's bedroom doubles up as a TV lounge, with full satellite TV, as well as collections of DVD's and lots of games for kids and adults. There is also free wifi throughout the house, although with relatively limited bandwidth at times, so streaming video is probably not an option.
The house is solar powered, with underfloor heading and there are wood burning stoves in the rooms and open fireplaces in other areas which tend to be used more often during the cooler evenings of May-Sep.
This designer home offers extreme comfort and luxury, but a relaxed friendly feel with staff always ready to help. Every detail has been carefully planned and put together to create a beautiful space of light and endless views. Food is fresh and local and served with flair and always around your own schedule. Evening activities are often accompanied by drinks and snacks at a suitably scenic location, whilst arrival and return to the lodge is often marked by special drinks, with hot chocolate for the kids on cooler evenings

Area Information
Located in a natural reserve on the Whale Coast area of the Western Cape, best known for whale watching and shark cage diving, there is much more on offer, with remote beaches, coastal dune-fields, ancient strandloper caves, remote lighthouses, historic farming communities, incredible fynbos flora and superb landscapes. A few nights on this stretch of coastline adds a real extra dimension to a safari and Cape Town trip
The reserve's 8km of stunning coastline includes gorgeous remote white-sand beaches, backed by high sand dunes.
Some of the sandy bays contain a raised rocky shelf which protects them from the ocean and creates wonderful lagoons for snorkelling and inter-tidal rockpools with an incredible wealth of marine life, including some remarkably aggressive octopuses.
The hinterland is comprised of rare fynbos vegetation, with a myriad of 1500 rare and endemic plant species.
There are also 86 mammal species including bonteboks, Cape mountain zebras, ostriches and baboons, plus 260 bird species.
The reserve is also the most aesthetically pleasing location from which to view whales from the shore Jul-Oct, although from a greater distance than other locations.
